Suno Generation Failed: Refunds and Common Causes

What causes a failed Suno generation, a stuck processing task or a rejected upload, whether credits are refunded, and what to send support.

Start with the conclusion: for a generation task that is confirmed failed, the cost is returned to your platform account. But "looks like a failure" and "actually failed" are two different things, and you need to tell them apart.

Three common situations

1. It keeps showing processing

Generation is an asynchronous task, so it normally takes a little time. Usually it can be played within 1 minute and downloaded within 5 minutes. If nothing has changed after that, check the task status first instead of resubmitting right away. Duplicate submissions create new charges.

2. The task shows failed

Failures usually come from a rejection returned by the upstream, for example content moderation not passing or material not meeting requirements. These tasks are marked as a failed final state and the cost is refunded. You can read the error message, adjust as instructed and submit again.

3. The upload is rejected

If an audio upload is judged to contain copyrighted content, it will be rejected by the official side. This is a material problem, so switch to a piece you recorded yourself or one you are authorized to use. The platform also provides a channel to assist with uploads, which applies to most rejection cases.

How the refund happens

Refunds for failed tasks are handled automatically by the system and go back to your platform account balance, with no separate request needed. If you find the balance has not changed, send the task ID and the time it happened to support so they can check.

What to provide when contacting support

• Song title or song ID
• Submission time
• The error message or screenshot on the page
• Whether the same request was submitted more than once

Do not send passwords, API keys or verification codes; support does not need them for the check.

Tips to reduce failures

• Do not click generate repeatedly while a task is processing.
• Avoid clearly violating content in lyrics and descriptions.
• Keep uploaded material under 10MB and use audio you have the right to use.
