Suno Studio Inspo: Use Reference Songs for New Ideas

Short answer: Inspo uses one or more completed songs as stylistic inspiration and generates a new result. Call POST /api/music/inspo with playlist_clip_ids containing at least one real song ID. A normal request returns two new clips.

What Inspo is good for

• Reusing a song's atmosphere, density or production texture.
• Combining two references into a new direction.
• Continuing a sonic identity without creating a direct cover.

Recommended workflow

1. Start with one primary reference.
2. Add a second only if it adds a missing texture.
3. Describe what to add, not everything the reference already contains.
4. Start with V6 and default Variety.
5. Use Max Mode or Studio editing after the direction is approved.

FAQ

Does Inspo copy the reference song?

It generates new material, but the result can still be close. Give it new lyrical and structural direction.

How many references can I use?

Create UI currently supports up to two; API requires at least one accessible source.

Can I use someone else's recording?

Only with the rights needed for your intended use.
